Hey Tony! Went for my second surfing lesson off Folly Beach SC last week. Had an awesome time. Thanks for the inspiration! Jaira, hang in there, if we don't change attitudes about people of color surfing no one will!

Hey Tony, just read the article in The Surfer's Journal and enjoyed it very much. I remember hanging out with you at the CCS shop when it was on Monterey Street. I'm still in Morro Bay, we should get together for lunch or coffee sometime. All the best, Jack Smith

Found your website on the net, nice to find people colour that surf. I have only ever seen one black on in the Uk surfing in Cornwall. Keep the spirit alive...

i first heard of you guys 20 or more years ago in a article in surfer mag and enjoyed it now i see another in the journal and am glad that you guys are still around. i am a surfer of color (deep chocolate) and have been surfing for over 30 years since i was 9-10 cant remember. i surf in la jolla san diego and a surfer named jason cruz (black) has been surfing very well for a few years now. i tell people how rare a sight this is aside from buttons or brazil or africa. any way just happy to see the organization is alive and well, surfing is for everyone.

Hi. I saw the whitewash movie tonight and I found it fascinating. I live in Jacksonville, like Jaira but last month I was doing a course in St. Augustine near the beach. The whole time I was there I was thinking about surfing but it was cold. I would like to go back this summer and maybe take lessons or something. After seeing the movie, I really think it is something I will do. Jaira...if you ever want to go surfing in Jax or St. Augustine, let me know :).

I'll be doggone! Tony Corley after all these yrs. It was Jan. 1978 I rolled into Farm Boys all-nite greasy-spoon soaking wet from riding my Norton Interstate Commando down Hwy. 101. i was so tired from riding in the rain, my head dropped to the table in my booth from exhaustion. You and Rose put me up for the night and i wound up attending to Cal Poly where you were a student. been awhile since I was in SLO County but God do i miss that good Life and the sweet smelling air - Blessings to you & yours My Friend
